Unfortunately kids can be in numerous positions that require our intervention. Linda Carlson has written a very informative document with detailed illustrations that many will find to be useful. http://www.gryphontor.com/showarticle.php?id=7 Although I have been breeding goats for approx. 6 years now, I have only had to go into one doe to assist a kid with a turned head. It was one of my mentors doe who decided to kid while she was out of town and I had to have her on the phone with me while trying to save mom and kid. I had no ideal what I was doing and wished I had seen some of these illustrations beforehand to give me a mental image of what I was doing.
I wish the best to everyone this kidding season and if problems do arrive, make those calls to vets, mentors, etc., if needed.
